Aluminum is a metal which, after oxygen, is the most widespread element in Earth's crust, up to 8%. Today, only steel is used more than aluminum. It is obtained from bauxite ore, which is processed into Al2O3 alumina, from which it is extracted by electrolysis consuming a lot of electricity (16 kWh \/ kg Al). The sole resistance of aluminum can be increased significantly by the anodic oxidation\/anodizing, powder coating and sublimation.
